Completes Design Projects For Three New Public Transportation
Clients Appoints Stephen T. Parry to Post of National Sales Manager
SANTA BARBARA (25 August, 2003)
Santa Barbara based CHK America has firmly established itself as
the premier provider of passenger information solutions to the public
transportation industry, signing five new top transit agency clients
during 2003, and most recently completing projects for transit authorities
in San Antonio, Austin and Nashville. This success has provided
for the appointment of industry veteran Stephen T. Parry to the
position of National Sales Manager. That announcement was made today
by Frederick A. Wood, President and CEO, CHK America.
Transit agencies nationwide have a common goal to increase usage
of public transportation systems, the benefits of which are numerous
to the economy as a whole* CHK America's success in this field is
its expertise in delivering clear, concise and effective passenger
information in a matter of seconds, enabling transit agencies to
improve customer service and thereby increase ridership. CHK America
has just recently finalized and delivered system-wide maps to Nashville's
Metropolitan Transit Authority and San Antonio's VIA Metropolitan
Transit. For Austin's Capital Metro, CHK America delivered re-designed
passenger information for the 26 Information Display Units situated
throughout Capital Metro's 500 square mile service area.
Appointed to the newly created, Santa Barbara based position of
National Sales Manager, is transit industry veteran Stephen T. Parry.
Parry's responsibility is to increase sales of the company's passenger
information services and products to transport agencies nationwide.
Prior to joining CHK America, Parry worked as a consultant on the
design, implementation and evaluation of route networks and fare
structures for urban transport systems. He served as the Director
of Service Development for AC Transit in Oakland, California and
was the Director of Scheduling & Operations Planning at the
LA County MTA and its predecessor, the SCRTD in Los Angeles. He
played a major role in the opening of several rail lines, major
sector and corridor service programs, and special events including
the spectator transport system for the 1984 Summer Olympics held
in Los Angeles. He has served on many panels and committees and
is a past chair of the APTA Intermodal Operations Technical Forum.
Commenting on the success of the company to date, Wood explains,
